Celebrating Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day
October 21, 2020 – The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) encourages the community to thank a child care professional on Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day on October 22.
Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day is often acknowledged with a flag raising and a special tribute to educators who work tirelessly to support children’s well-being and engagement. While TBDSSAB is unable to host an event in person this year, families and children in the community are encouraged to show their appreciation.
“The theme for CCW & ECE Appreciation Day 2020 is Rising Up for Child Care, which perfectly captures how childcare professionals have risen to the challenge of providing essential early years services under difficult circumstances,” says Bill Bradica, CAO. “TBDSSAB’s Child Care and Early Years Program has been hit hard by this pandemic, and the team has done an outstanding job navigating the many changes and directives that have impacted child care professionals throughout our district.”
“COVID-19 has demonstrated what many of us already know: child care professionals are the backbone of our community, and should be celebrated,” said Lucy Kloosterhuis, Chair. “On behalf of the TBDDSAB Board, I extend my greatest appreciation and admiration to child care professionals across our district.”
If you know someone who works within the child care profession or is an educator to your child or children, please take the time to say a special thank you. Encourage children to decide how they’d like to show their appreciation. For inspiration, follow TBDSSAB on Facebook: www.facebook.com/tbdssab
