Starting March 1, 2025, The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (TBDSSAB) will no longer provide employment supports as part of Ontario Works program delivery for the District of Thunder Bay.
All employment supports required through the Ontario Works program will be provided by Employment Ontario.
What you need to know:
- TBDSSAB will continue to deliver Ontario Works.
- TBDSSAB will no longer provide employment supports, including employment programming as well as monthly benefits for travel and transportation.
- Employment Ontario will take on the responsibility for employment services for Ontario Works recipients, including financial supports, starting March 1.
- Caseworkers will work with Ontario Works recipients to create an action plan. The plan will look at strengths, skills, and support needs.
- Referrals will be made to Employment Ontario for employment support needs.
- Everything else about the Ontario Works program will stay the same.
